In Humanistic Astrology, the lunation cycle is a model.

Its observation opens to a wider understanding of the intention of the universe that one day put us here on a little blue planet, giving us the imensity of the sky as instruction manual... More than a great book open upon reality, the movement of the planets and luminaries tells us about what we can, at the rhythm of the cosmos, live and accept, to become fully ourselves, meaning non-divided individuals, responsible and free.

Moon

It is the servant of the Sun, it distributes its energy throughout the 28 days of its rotation around the Earth.

The cycle begins with New Moon when the Sun and Moon are on the same degree of a zodiac sign. Gradually, the Moon is moving away from the Sun (in its apparent motion as viewed from Earth).

The Moon Cycle is divided into 4 main phases, which correspond to 4 stages of "distribution" of solar energy on Earth.

New Moon

It is a rendezvous between the life energy that animates us
and the central solar power.
The Moon draws in the Sun a new energy
that it will absorb then distribute during a whole month.

Full Moon

Revelation or accomplishment,
promise of clarity and conscience,
out of duality and oppositions.
The Moon equal to the Sun,
it's the reconciliation of the ego and spirit.

Sabian Symbols

"Astrological Mandala" The book of Dane Rudhyar about Sabian Symbols, is an indispensable tool for anyone seeking the meaning of life, events, and to anyone sensitive to symbols of the collective unconscious.

Originally, these symbols have been developed by Marc Edmund Jones, astrologer, and Elsie Weeler, medium in 1925.

They represent a series of 360 stages of the zodiac.
These symbols can be used in different ways to interpret the position of a planet or for divination...

The symbol itself should be viewed and felt deeply.

The symbols in English are excerpts from "Sabian Symbols in Astrology" Marc Edmund Jones, ed. Shambala, 1978.

How to use the lunation cycle ?

In the birth chart :

- With the secondary progressions, system based upon 1 day = 1 year.

We start from the New Moon before birth, which gives to life the "tone" of the Incarnation. We observe its sign and house.
Then from the date of birth, we count 1 day after birth for one year of life, and note at what age of life the phases of lunation following the birth will relate .
Each of the 4 main phases corresponds to a key period in the life : beginning a new cycle at the New Moon, decision and action at the First Quarter, assessment and harvest at the Fuul Moon, consciousness crisis at the Last Quarter.
Thus, from each New Moon, starts a cycle of about 30 years, during the first half of which action and concrete construction will be preferred, and during the second half attention will be focused on growth in consciousness.

The spiral movement of evolution can be well observed from one cycle to another, as if the opportunities were repeated, we have the choice to live at another level of consciousness.

In a daily observation :

The observation of the changing appearance of the moon in the sky is a way to connect to the impermanence of the universe and offers to men a constant way of adaptation.
One of the astrological functions symbolized by the Moon is adapting to everyday life.
Every New Moon offers a renewal, a rebirth, a new project, which will be realized during the first 15 days of the cycle.

At the First Quarter the need to move forward and cut with fears from the past arises.

The Full Moon symbolizes the fulfillment, harvest period and balance, which gradually leads the individual to grow in consciousness, and seek the meaning of experiences lived during the first half cycle.

At Last Quarter, the opportunity to change our worldview definitely, and to continue to grow in wisdom and understanding.

The symbols associated with phases indicate the path to follow, show what is offered to all humanity. Everyone will feel or not, according to its sensitivity, the global motion proposed by the servant of the Sun, and will choose to live transformations in consciousness..
